DARC Network Server - DSN-3000

The Network Server (NWS) is the DARC system's interface towards both the Service Providers and the TSEs at the transmitter stations. The Network Server is responsible for sending the right data to the TSEs enabling highly configurable services with respect to geographical coverage and bandwidth usage.

Real-time applications
The Network Server is designed for real-time applications with demand for highly reliable transmission of critical data. One main function of the Network Server is to handle priority between services enabling mixing of critical and non-critical services.

Use of existing networks
The Network Server has been developed to enable the user to start transmissions without major investments. Since the unit has several network interfaces, it is possible to use existing networks and even multiple in parallel for redundancy.

Centralized management
Remote Monitoring and control of the complete DARC network is performed via TCP/IP and/or SNMP. In addition, the Network Server logs the statistics about transmitted data for later verification.

Scalable
The Network Server is scalable to fit DARC systems of any size and since it is based on a standard PC and runs on Windows Servers, it is unnecessary to develop new hardware when more power is required – it is sufficient to upgrade to a more powerful PC.
