Adept dGPS System

The Adept dGPS System is a complete application giving a Service Provider the ability to provide high precision correction data for satellite navigation systems to customers with high requirements at a low cost.

The base of the Adept system is to:

- Collect correction data for satellite navigation systems
- Apply subscription handling.
- Compress the data stream.
- Transmit the data to a DARC Network Server.
- Receive the data from the DARC subcarrier.
- Check subscription parameters.
- Decompress the data.
- Deliver it to a satellite navigation receiver.
- Keep a channel to the subscriber where integrity information and information about quality of service could be sent.

Several specific issues are solved by the Adept dGPS System

Compression
An RTK service including dGPS typically consumes 3000 bps of raw bandwidth. With the Adept compression algorithm this can be reduced to 1000 bps, which in the area of DARC makes a significant difference.

Information Channel
The Information Channel of Adept is used for the automatic setup of the receiver and also to send Integrity Messages about the quality of service to the End-User. Several add-on features could be attached to the Information Channel, such as weather forecast, remote switching etc.

Integrity Messaging
These messages informs the End-User about the current working of the Adept System and its components. For instance could a scheduled downtime of a Reference Station be announced a couple of days in advance.

Automatic Receiver Configuration
The receiver requires a minimum of configuration from the End-User in the normal case. Several parameters are available, but a one time setup should be sufficient.

Redundancy for Reference Stations
The collection of data from the Reference Stations could be made with backup functionality.

Subscriber Management
The subscriber management system that can be added to the Adept System is a convenient way of handling paying customers. It is possible to set different attributes for each subscriber and after an initial setup of the receiver, everything is updated over-the-air. Strong encryption using the latest algorithms is protecting the system as well as Your Information.
