Sonoma County Transit, United States of America

Sonoma County Transit (SCT), based in California, provides public transportation services across the county with a focus on reliability, accessibility, and serving both urban and rural communities. In 2021, SCT became Axentia’s very first customer in the United States, marking the start of a successful expansion into the American market.

From a cold call to a lasting partnership

The collaboration began when Axentia’s Sales Manager, reached out with a cold call. SCT decided to take a chance on a smaller technology company and what started as a first step quickly grew into a strong and rewarding partnership.

In 2021 in partnership with Vix US, SCT placed their first order of 10 units of 13-inch E-paper pole-top displays

A solution built on reliability

One of SCT’s primary requirements was a passenger information system that could be depended on every day. Axentia’s E-paper displays met this need perfectly. The 13-inch E-paper models delivered:

  • Simple, battery-operated functionality with no need for solar panels.
  • Accessibility through text-to-speech buttons, ensuring visually impaired passengers can hear real-time information.
  • Durability and long-term reliability, key factors for SCT’s decision.

Expanding the rollout

After a successful first deployment, SCT returned with a follow-up order for 20 additional displays. This expansion confirmed both the strength of the solution and the positive impact on passengers across Sonoma County.

“We needed a solution that works every single day—without trenching or solar panels. Axentia’s E-paper displays have been stable, easy to maintain, and clearly valued by our riders.”
