Battery Operated Displays
Axentia develops displays with market leading techniques for low power consumption, making it possible to run the displays entirely on batteries for several years. The major advantages with a display system for public transport that runs on batteries are lower procurement cost, simple installation procedure and a more flexible administration. The iBus Displays can be installed on all stop points, also where little or no solar energy is available.
Real-time information services can now be afforded over larger areas, bringing up to date information to all the places where it previously has not been economically feasible to implement real-time information services.
LCD displays have the advantage of a wide operating temperature range (-30 to +70 °C) making them ideal for outdoor deployments with varying temperatures. Direct sunlight or intense ambient light increases the contrast of the LCD displays.
E-paper displays have the advantage of high resolution and zero power consumption when showing static information.
